Masters & Recreational

Rowing is a life sport, and because addiction to it is common, many people rowing through to old age.

Yet the Masters categories begin at the age of 27, when you become an “A”, and go all the way to “J” where the competitors will be 80 or older. It makes our sport remarkably inclusive.

Mosman has good rowers in most of these age categories; men and women in all types of boats who compete locally and abroad. Masters rowing at Mosman is social but serious, and full rowing members are expected to compete for the club.

A level of competency is required in these categories, and usually a test is required to be completed before anyone joins Mosman as a Masters member. First time rowers will directed towards our Learn To Row program.

Our Recreational crews have access to quad sculls, have later start times, and whilst non-competitive require a suitable level of competence as it is unsupervised.
